Vintage Coach Metropolitan Briefcase - Brown
The Find: This is the bag Anne Hathaway carries through The Devil Wears Prada 2, the vintage Coach Metropolitan pulled from the archive by costume designer Molly Rogers. Hathaway's is black. This one is brown, the original heritage colorway Coach built its identity on, made in the United States at the tail end of the brand's domestic-production era. The Metropolitan launched in 1987. Forty years later, it is the most-referenced handbag in cinema, and brown is the version that develops the deepest patina with time.
Curator's note: Same archive silhouette as Hathaway's on-screen bag, in the warmer colorway. I cross-referenced this against verified set photography to confirm proportions, hardware, and construction match the screen piece exactly.
